Maintenance Mechanic

Summary of Position

Vactor is currently looking for a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic. The hours for the 2nd shift position are 2:00 p. m. to 10:00 p. m. with the potential for overtime at the end of the shift. This position will be based out of our facility in Streator, IL.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fabrication, machining, welding, material handling, and assembly equipment.

  • Install and maintain 480, 220, and 100 branch electrical service.

  • Pipe fitting (gas, water, air, sprinkler system).

  • Maintain and repair the facility.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.

  • Must be willing to do emergency callout.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing plant maintenance position.

  • Thorough understanding of 480 wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics.

  • Knowledge of machinists' math, heating and air conditioning, welding, cutting.

  • Use of hand tools, PC, electrical testing equipment, sewer power rodder.

  • Must have valid driver's license.

  • Must be able to work at heights of 40 feet.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to read and understand hydraulic, electrical and mechanical blue prints.

  • Must pass an electrical test and a mechanical test.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
