Position Description:

We are looking for a motivated, talented individual interested in a manufacturing leadership role with significant growth opportunity to join our organization as a Job Change Specialist in our Streator, IL facility.
This position is accountable for managing the job change process effectively in order to improve the job change efficiency and improve manufacturing flexibility. Accountable for achieving increased revenues through improved planning and execution of job changes. Position is also responsible for continuous improvement in job change index.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Improve the job change efficiency such that over time the plant will be able to increase the number of job changes performed and in turn increase plant revenue.
Recommend and implement initiatives that will improve productivity and quality.
Manage job change process to ensure the lowest negative impact on production, and quality meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Establish training program to build capability and skills sets of job change crew and supporting departments
Establish effective job change meeting structure and facilitate/participate in job change planning and improvement meetings to identify and facilitate execution of action items
Promote teambuilding within cross-functional areas
Incorporate plant and regional mold standardization programs into reducing the complexity of job changes
Optimize scheduling of Preventative Maintenance during job changes to maximize production uptime
Lead efforts to improve safety during job change activities
Perform root-cause analysis to resolve issues and problems
Utilize LSS Tools to drive job change performance
Ensure accurate job histories are maintained for consistent repeatability
Collect and review data using Global Metrics to benchmark job change performance and analyze trends to identify improvement opportunities
Lead in pursuing, communicating, implementing and creating global job change best practices using a proactive approach
Manage all job change activities for the plant including the scheduling and execution of planned maintenance to ensure optimum utilization of resources in the Hot End and Cold End towards meeting targets
Analyze job change methods and develop and implement improved procedures to minimize downtime and improve product quality
Attend production planning meetings to ensure job change activity does not have an adverse impact on customer requirements
SCOPE AND IMPACT:
Improve job change efficiency and capability to increase plant revenue. Position will work with all departments in plant as well as other JCS and Corporate personnel. Challenges to manage include job scheduling issues with Perrysburg and inter-department conflict. Position will manage the job change process using influence rather than direct authority. Internal relationships are most important peers within the plant and the scheduling department in Perrysburg. Constraints include plant budget and the physical constraints or Engineering of the plant itself and customer demands. The use and development of organizational and team building tools is expected. Position uses Global Metrics to monitor trends and identify performance gaps by benchmarking against comparable plants regionally and globally. This position has a contributory impact on job change efficiency, plant revenue, machine downtime, capital budget for the plant, and overall plant budget.
Position Requirements:
High School diploma minimum
Bachelor's Degree (4 year) Engineering preferred
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment that does job changes in tooling or product line or experience in a lean manufacturing environment
Knowledge of the functions and operations of Hot End and Cold End plant and equipment preferred Previous supervisory experience

This position reports to the Plant Manager.
