Project Engineer

Vactor Mfg. Inc. is currently seeking a Project Engineer to l ead projects and perform and/or coordinate engineering and design work for specific products. .
Essential Duties:
Lead the development of new layouts and design and/or modification in existing products, and information required for production use.
Lead project team members to implement the project plan with Company and Corporate guidelines.
Review sales orders, complete all design and documentation and engineering releases.
Set release schedules of special options and product improvements.
Communicate and coordinate with suppliers where engineering input is required to develop specifications for products and/or components.
Develop project plans with input from engineering, marketing and production.
Develop required documentation according to the FS ESG New Product Development Process.
Coordinate project activity and report progress and status of projects as needed to the Strategic Product Planning Committee, engineering, marketing and production.
Work with production, manufacturing engineering, lab supervision, marketing, service, and engineering personnel during the implementation of a project.
Review complete engineering change notices, including BOM investigation per departmental procedures, for completeness and accuracy.
Use departmental CAD system and office software, to Vactor standards and procedures.
Assist with identifying and implementing resolution of production and warranty problems.
Actively participate and contribute to the cost reduction process as needed.
Evaluate product or product modification to determine the degree of success of the product in terms of performance and user satisfaction. May include travel to the field and/or trade shows.
Assist engineering team members with required engineering expertise to complete design activities.
Assist marketing in reviewing bid specifications and requests for quotations as needed.
Assist others in interpreting the information supplied on detail drawings.
Provide leadership and development for product engineering team members.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
